While we encourage our members to practice responsible financial planning, we understand that life doesn't always go according to plan. For those unforeseen events and expenses, Public Service Credit Union offers members two overdraft protection services: an and .
PSCU encourages members with checking accounts to apply for an Overdraft Line-of-Credit to avoid the inconvenience of returned checks and declined Visa® Check Card purchases - and the fees that often accompany these situations. If your checking account becomes overdrawn, PSCU will automatically deposit enough funds into your account to cover the balance. Best of all, there is no fee for this service*.
We offer three easy ways to apply:
*The Overdraft Line-of-Credit is a loan. Click here to see our Rates. Advances are made in $100 increments. A low payment of at least 3% of the total unpaid balance or $30, whichever is greater, is due once a month. For members' convenience, payments are automatically transferred from the checking account.
Courtesy Clear is an overdraft protection service that requires no action on the part of the member. If a member does not have an Overdraft Line-of-Credit, and there aren't sufficient funds in the account to cover a purchase, Public Service Credit Union may approve overdrafts within the set limit, preventing the inconvenience and expense of dealing with a returned check.
As long as the member maintains their account in good standing, a Courtesy Clear limit will automatically be assigned without the need for an application or form to fill out.
