eStatements

Public Service Credit Union is pleased to announce the introduction of eStatements, an online version of your printed statement.

  • It’s Fast - eStatements allow you to access your monthly statement faster than paper statements by eliminating mailing delays.
  • It’s Secure - eStatements are only available through our Home Banking site to ensure the privacy of your information.
  • It’s Smart - eStatements help to protect the environment by reducing paper consumption.
  • It’s Easy - Every month, you will receive an email notifying you when your statement is ready for viewing, so you never have to worry about forgetting. Also, for your convenience, your statements will be saved for 12 months, once accrued, allowing you to view your old statements at a later point in time.
Another convenient benefit of having eStatements through Home Banking is the ability to safely email the credit union any questions you might have about your statement. You can do this by utilizing the Secure Messaging feature found under the “Options” menu.

To sign up for eStatements, simply login to your Home Banking account and click on "eStatements" under the "Accounts" menu.

Q: Why has the login process changed?
A: We have recently updated our Home Banking security as part of a federal requirement to include Multi-factor authentication. This is intended to provide you with the best security possible when accessing your account online. Multi-Factor Authentication consists of validation and authentication of an individual using more than one method of verification. This is accomplished by verifying three things:

Verification 1 - Something you know. You will create three security question and answer pairs. The security question ensures the legitimacy of the user by asking a question only the true user can answer. If the question is answered incorrectly, access will not be granted.

Verification 2 - Something you create. The Security Key is another security measure which allows you to verify you have reached our Home Banking site, and not a "phishing" site.

Verification 3 - Something you memorize. This is your Access Code.

Q: Why all this attention to security?
A: While the chances of identity theft or monetary loss are slim, there are malicious individuals who look to fraudulently gain from unsuspecting individuals. One of the most popular methods of fraud is through impersonating individuals during the login process. It is our intention to make this process as difficult as possible while keeping your experience as hassle-free as possible.

Q: What if I don’t know or forgot my Access Code?
A: Please call our Communication Center at (303) 691-2345 or (800) 437-7328, or you can send an email to membercare@pscu.org. You can also stop by one of our conveniently-located branches for help.

Q: What if I don’t know the answer to the Security Question?
A: Since the three Security Questions rotate, please start over and try to login again. If you are able to login, change your Security Questions/Answers by clicking on "Authentication Questions" under the "Options" menu. If are unable to login, please call our Communication Center at (303) 691-2345 or (800) 437-7328, or you can send an email to membercare@pscu.org. You can also stop by one of our conveniently-located branches for help.

Q: What if my account is frozen?
A: To unfreeze your account, please call our Communication Center at (303) 691-2345 or (800) 437-7328, or you can send an email to membercare@pscu.org. You can also stop by one of our conveniently-located branches for help.

Q: Can I change my Account Number, Access Code, Security Questions/Answers, or my Security Key?
A: Yes. Once you login to Home Banking, you can change these settings under the "Options" menu.

Q: What is the Security Key?
A: The Security Key is a security measure which allows you to verify you have reached our Home Banking site, and not a "phishing" site. After you create your Security Key, it will be featured during the login process and on the Home Banking pages as a visual confirmation. If you do not see the Security Key or it is not the one you created, then you are not at our site. If this happens, please contact the Communication Center immediately at (303) 691-2345 or (800) 437-7328.

Tips for Creating a Security Key:
1. Use a unique set of characters or word(s) that you can use to identify our site.
2. Do not use PINs or Passwords.

Q: What is the Random Code?
A: The Random Code is an extra security measure used to eliminate fraudsters from randomly selecting account numbers. It is randomly generated each time you try to login.

Q: What kind of transactions can I do within Home Banking?
A: You can view your balance, transfer money, view cleared checks, access your statements, reorder checks, sign up and access Bill Pay, view your credit score, and much more!

Q: Can I download my account information from Home Banking?
A: Yes. You can download your account information using OFX (Quicken), Qif (MS Money - Quicken), Excel, or comma separated. To access this feature, login to Home Banking and click on “Download” under the “Accounts” menu.

Q: How long will my statements be saved with eStatements?
A: After a year of using eStatements, you can view your statements for the last 12 months.

Q: What does "Remember this computer" mean?
A: If you choose to remember your computer, you will not be prompted to answer the security question during future logins. You will still have to enter in your Account Number, Access Code, and the Random Code. You can remember your computer after you have completed the initial enrollment and login. The system uses a secure cookie to recognize a remembered computer. If you delete your browser cookies on your PC, you will have to re-remember the computer. The secure cookie will periodically expire on your computer and will require you to remember your computer again.

Q: What does "Do not remember this computer" mean?
A: If you are using a computer that is accessed by numerous users, we recommend that you do not remember your account on that PC. We only recommend you remember your personal computer at home.

Q: What is a secure cookie?
A: A secure cookie is a small text file that is placed on a computer to help identify the user. If you select “Remember this computer,” a cookie will be stored on your PC allowing you to bypass your security questions during future logins. The secure cookie will periodically expire on your computer and will require you to remember your computer again.

Q: Can I remember my account on another computer?
A: Yes. You can remember your account on more than one PC.

Q: Can more than one account be remembered on the same PC?
A: Yes. You can remember numerous accounts on the same PC. This will bypass the security questions when you login.

Q: Do I have to re-remember my PC when I delete my cookies?
A: Yes. The system uses your PC hardware and software information to recognize you are a legitimate user. If you delete your cookies, the information is no longer available to authenticate your login. You will be prompted to answer one of your security questions.

Q: Why do I have to remember again when I use a separate browser on the same PC to access Home Banking?
A: When you remember your account on a certain PC it stores software and hardware information used to access Home Banking. The system stores information like your browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape) and operating system (Windows XP, 2000, Macintosh). If you access Home Banking with a different browser or operating system, you are required to remember again as a security measure.

Q: Can I transfer funds between two different accounts?
A: Yes. To set up this transaction, all you need to do is complete an authorization form. To obtain this form, please call our Communication Center at (303) 691-2345 or (800) 437-7328, or you can send an email to membercare@pscu.org. You can also stop by one of our conveniently-located branches for help.

Q. What is the difference between balance and available balance in Home Banking?
A. The difference between the actual balance and the available balance in an account depends on the type of account.

For a savings account, certificate of deposit, or money market account, the difference is the minimum balance requirement.

For a checking account, the difference could be a minimum balance requirement. It could also be outstanding or pending Visa® Check Card charges, since your available balance reflects real-time transactions, while your balance does not.

For all types of accounts, the difference between the actual balance and the available balance could be due to check holds that are placed at the time a deposit is made.
