Insured Investments
PUTTING YOUR MONEY TO WORK FOR YOU

Investing is important for both short-term and long-term financial growth. PSCU offers a variety of insured investment products at excellent rates to help you meet your financial goals. With our insured investment products, you can be confident that your money is both secure and working hard for you.

Certificates of Deposit (CDs)
With a wide range of terms and great interest rates, CDs are a safe and convenient way to invest. When you open a CD, your funds are invested for a specific period of time and at an interest rate that is higher than what you would earn in a basic savings account. PSCU offers a variety of terms, ranging from 6 months to 5 years, to fit your individual investment needs.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)
Whether you’re saving for retirement or future education expenses, IRAs are an excellent way to help meet your financial goals. PSCU offers the Traditional IRA, Roth IRA and Coverdell Education Savings Account.

With a Traditional IRA, deductible contributions and interest earnings are tax-deferred until they are withdrawn, maximizing the compounding effect on your investment. Penalty-free withdrawals may be made for qualified reasons including: age 59 ½, disability, death, first-time home purchase, qualified educational expense. Other qualified reasons may be applicable. See a PSCU representative for more information.

Roth IRA interest earnings are tax-free and penalty-free after a five-year investment period and when withdrawals are made for one of these "qualified" reasons: age 59 ½, disability, death, first-time home purchase.

The Coverdell Educational Savings Account allows you to earn tax-free interest on your contributions towards a child's education expenses. Contributions may be made until a child turns 18, and may be used for qualified elementary, secondary and post-secondary education expenses.

Choose the type of IRA that’s right for you based on your particular needs and then select from two IRA products: an IRA Quarterly Share or an IRA Certificate of Deposit.
